Gemma is an Associate with BDL Family Law, where she exclusively practises family law, including separation, divorce, parenting arrangements, property division, and child and spousal support. She is known for providing clear, practical guidance and supporting clients through every stage of the legal process during what is often a highly emotional time.
Before joining BDL, Gemma practised law in the Philippines for over ten years, handling employment, family, and corporate matters. She also worked as in-house counsel and served as Head of the Human Resources Department, experiences that strengthened her ability to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics, resolve conflict, and communicate effectively with individuals facing challenging situations. Together with an academic background in psychology, this experience directly informs her empathetic and client-focused approach to family law.
Gemma completed her undergraduate and law degrees in the Philippines at De La Salle University and Ateneo de Manila School of Law, respectively, and later earned an LL.M. (with honours) from Université Catholique de Lyon in France. She is a member in good standing of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the Law Society of Alberta and is fluent in English and Tagalog.
When she’s not working, you’ll often find Gemma at the park or other dog-friendly places with her dog.
